Includes "Principles of Ethical Conduct" and "Statement of Principles for Ethical Conduct Pertaining to Aboriginal Peoples." The "Statement of Principles for Ethical Conduct Pertaining to Aboriginal Peoples" is a separate code accepted by the CAA and includes the following principles: Consultation; Aboriginal Involvement; Sacred Sites and Places; and Communication and Interpretation.
It also includes the "Statement on UNRIP and TRC Calls of Action," by which the CAA acknowledges that Indigenous cultural heritage, including archaeological sites and artifacts, is the cultural and intellectual property of Indigenous peoples.
The Canadian Archaeological Association Anti-Harrasment Policy and Procedures was revised on April 24, 2021. This document is available in PDF form with details about the application, definitions, responsibilities and expectations, disclosures, limitations, procedures for addressing a harassment complain, privacy and confidentiality, reporting, and education communication.
