BABAO provides a Code of Ethics and a Code of Practice for biological anthropologists and archaeologists working with human remains. The Code of Ethics, available as a PDF, addresses ethical responsibilities regarding the following: Research; Teaching (Teachers/Mentors and Students); Application; and Dissemination of Results. The Code of Practice details professional standards for working with human remains. This page also includes links to several other resources regarding ethics and practice regarding recording human remains, human remains in museums, and accessing collections, as well as the Association's Statement on the Sale of Human Remains.
