Notes
Abstract: Indian archaeologists have largely denied the influence of socio-political contexts on academics. But this has not prevented some from (mis)using archaeological evidence with catastrophic results. No discussion on the issue was permitted at the World Archaeological Congress (WAC) in New Delhi in December last year, so that eight years after it was formed, the WAC compromised and suppressed free debate on a vital matter.
