The Illinois Archaeological Survey is a society of professional archaeologists, and other technical progessionals, dedicated to identifying and preserving important archaeological resources throughout the state of Illinois. This organization has a Constitution and By-Laws.
On Section 4 of their constitution, the organization states that their purposes shall be to document, interpret and preserve the archaeological purposes of the state, to disseminate information about the cultural heritage of Illinois, and to encourage professional development and ethics.
