Notes

"It was during stays at North American universities that we discovered ethics in archaeology as a subject. Ethics education is rare in France and was absent from our respective curricula, even though it seems essential to reflect on our profession, status, and position as a cultural and scientific profession in today’s world. Furthermore, Anglo-Saxon archaeologists approach ethical issues in a way that is couched within their history and culture and as such cannot be directly imported into European frameworks."
