Course Description
This course serves as an introduction to the method and theory of preserving objects for the purposes of exhibit, research, and for posterity. The course is structured in a seminar/laboratory format designed to familiarize students with the chemicals, equipment, and procedures used in treating artifacts. The course covers conservationĀ ethicsĀ and guidelines, deterioration processes, and the conservation of organic and inorganic materials.
