INAH provides a detailed document outlining the ethical obligations of its membership. They provide eleven values that guide practice: Public Interest, Integrity, Transparency, Honesty, Respect for Human Rights, Equality and Non-Discrimination, Gender Equality, Cultural and Ecological Environment, Cooperation, Leadership, and Accountability. They also provide eight principles for work with the public: Legality, Honesty, Loyalty, Impartiality, Efficiency, Respect, Professionalism, and Prevention (conflicts of interest and potential corruption).
